New Resource: Byways of Philately Chapter XV, Husseys Cancels

Most collectors of Hussey’s stamps and covers have relied on Byways of Philately (pp. 139–171) for identifying Hussey postmarks, a work compiled by Elliott Perry after the death of H. Warren Hale and published in 1966. Although the nomenclature remains valuable, later discoveries revealed that some covers pictured in the book were John Fox fakes. After years of study, Larry Lyons has exposed many of these fakes, with his findings published in The Penny Post (April 2025, Vol. 33 No. 2).
