New Reference Added: Stamp Collector's Record

Posted 10/16/2026

S. Allan Taylor's Stamp Collector's Record, the first magazine devoted entirely to philately, is now available to view on our References page. S. Allan Taylor, often called the King of Forgeries, started it when he was in Montreal in 1861. Taylor continued to publish it from different cities in the U.S. until 1876. The publication is important because it often includes an article on new bogus local post stamps that he created.
